The
American Forum for Global Education promotes the
education of American youth for responsible citizenship in an
increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world.
The
Hague Appeal for Peace is an international network of peace and
justice organizations dedicated to sowing the seeds for the
abolition of war through the implementation of the Hague Agenda
for Peace and Justice for the 21st Century (UN Ref A/54/98), a
set of 50 recommendations developed at the Hague Appeal for
Peace Conference in 1999, the largest international peace
conference in history. We are focused on promoting a Global
Campaign for Peace Education dedicated to the integration of
peace education into curricula and communities worldwide as a
means of reducing violence and preventing war.
The School
for International Training offers graduate
degrees, certificates, study abroad opportunities,
international experiences, and institutional partnerships in a
diversity of fields including teacher training, international
education, intercultural management, sustainable development,
policy advocacy, social advocacy, NGO management, ESL,
Executive English, and language education.
Track 3 Connections is about connectedness. It is about
bringing people together in an online community. It is about
forging bonds in a virtual world to enable us to perform better
in the real world. On our site now we have submissions
from or about Armenia, Azerbaijan, Mozambique, Ethiopia,
Colombia, Palestine, Israel, Cyprus, the US, Bangladesh, Nepal,
Bhutan, and the Balkans. These are original submissions from
the global grassroots community who want to share their
articles, personal stories, poems and photos. They want to
begin a dialogue; we want to provide the means.
The
University for Peace provides humanity with an international
institution of higher education for peace with the aim of
promoting among all human beings a spirit of understanding,
tolerance and peaceful coexistence, to stimulate cooperation
among peoples, and to help lessen obstacles and threats to
world peace and progress in keeping with the noble aspirations
proclaimed in the Charter of the United Nations.
Vermont Peace Academy is an inclusive,
diverse community dedicated to the advancement of personal,
interpersonal, transpersonal and global peace. The VPA is a
new institution that seeks to nourish the spirit of peace
and prepare people from all walks of life with the skills and
knowledge necessary to be successful peacemakers. Our mission
is to encourage the teaching, learning and practice of peace as
a vehicle for individual and cultural transformation. The VPA
has been created to support the development of peace education
programs that will serve individuals, schools, universities and
communities throughout the state of Vermont. The VPA also
functions as a network for the sharing of information, ideas
and resources related to establishing a culture of peace. The
VPA designs and supports educational settings that demonstrate
and model the practice and application of peace in every day
life, with a particular emphasis on direct experiential
learning, self-discovery, mentoring and community service.
Search
for Common Ground is dedicated to transforming the way the
world deals with conflict: away from adversarial
approaches, toward cooperative solutions.
Socio-Economic Equilibrium, Human Rights, Tolerance and Justice
Habitat
for Humanity International brings families and communities in need
together with volunteers and resources to build, decent,
affordable housing.
The
People Centered Development Forum envisions human
societies in which three values serve as organizing principles
of public policy, justice, inclusiveness, and sustainability.
The sustainable society celebrates the unity and diversity of
all life and engages in a constant and conscious effort to
balance human consumption and population with the needs of
other life and the regenerative capacities of the eco-system.
It embraces the natural obligation of human societies to
protect the well-being of future generations of all species by
maintaining earth's natural capital and recognizing the rights
of other species to share in the planet’s ecological
space.
Refugees International generates
lifesaving assistance and protection for displaced people
around the world, and works to end the conditions that create
displacement.
