Nelson as an environmental teach-in, Earth Day is now
celebrated around the world on April 22. Environmental
groups have made Earth Day into a day of action to increase
awareness, change human behavior and develop policies that
benefit the natural health of the whole living earth.

An Evolution in Leadership
Hailing from all over the world and from
many different religions and cultures, the World Spirit Youth
Council pursues projects, education programmes and other
spiritually centered initiatives that expand consciousness. The
WSYC Africa Conference will bring together a maximum of 250
youth from all over Africa for a three-day conference,
exploring understanding of the self, radical responsibility and
leadership as a privileged role.

of the Great Tree of Peace
This is an opportunity for modern
Spirit-Youth to experience traditional Native American
reverence for nature and laws of sustainability. They
will explore the traditional worldview of the “Six
Nations” people, their Creation story, the Sacred Fire,
the Great Law of Peace, the Journey of the Peacemaker and the
meanings of these stories for today’s world.
