Life, whether at the level of an ecosphere or the level of a microorganism, is self-regulating.   The organizational principles of the World Spirit Youth Council have been intentionally modeled after the self-organizing principles of life itself.  The health and integrity of the whole are affected by the condition of each and every one of its participants.

Watching the fledging WSYC grow and develop, one notices how naturally the regional initiative in Nepal nourished  individual spirituality and prepared the group for participation in the Goi Peace Forum--   And then at the Goi Forum in Tokyo how awe-inspiring that the WSYC emphasis on spirituality fit so beautifully into Mr. Saionji’s 4-S concept.  Spirituality, through sciences and systems is interdependent with sustainability!

The voice of youth fills the air--
SIMPLE SONG OF FREEDOM  Lyrics

Come and sing this simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We don't need no hero or no war

Hey everybody can you hear me?
I don't want your diamonds or your game
I just want to be someone known to you as me
And I'll bet my life you want the same

Come and sing this simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before . . . .
Below: WORLD SPIRIT YOUTH RETREAT PARTICIPANTS, May 2007, at BYAKKO’s Mt Fuji Sanctuary
Seven hundred million are you listening?
And don't you know most of what you read
          is made of lies
But speaking one to one, ain't it
          everybody's sun
To wake to in the morning when we rise?

Come and sing this simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before . . . .

No doubt some folks like doin' battle
Like presidents, prime ministers and kings
So let them battle just among themselves
We’ll live on, keep on, he who want to sing --
